Chennai has defeated Kolkata in the first match of IPl 2011 by 2 runs. Anirudha who scored 64 for CSK was man of the match. Kallis scored a fifty for Kolkata. The match was decided in the last ball when Kolkata required 4 but only managed a single.Batting first Chennai scored 153 loosing 4 wickets in 20 overs. Kolkata on the other other hand managed 151 loosing 7 wickets in 20 overs. KKR seemed to be cruising towards victory as they were 92-1 in 12 overs. but Tim Southee's bowling towards the death overs helped them a lot.
